For anyone who knows me personally, they know that I am the #1 Post Malone fan. While I can take up this whole article explaining the reasons why I am a huge fan of Post Malone (Posty) and his previous album Beerbongs and Bentleys, I will condense my reasons into three bullet points:
• his voice
• his lyrics are deep and real
• He is an artist who is always honest with his fans

I think his new album Hollywood's Bleeding rightfully shows these three reasons. Now, I don't want you guys to waste your time listening to each song and trying to find the best ones. I have already done that, way too many times, and selected three songs that I believe you should all listen to first.
The three songs that I have picked out for you best represent Posty and are ones that I think you can jam out to in the shower, on your way to class, or in your bed while you cry yourself to sleep.
Let's get started.
1. Die for Me (feat. Future, Halsey)
This is my favorite song out of the whole album because Posty was very open and explicit with his private life. The upbeat heartbreak anthem clearly explains through the lyrics how heartbroken he was from a relationship he had with Ashlen Diaz. They were together for three years and it was publicly known that they both always tried to balance their relationship due to Posty’s crazy life.

The pair broke up in late 2018, but Posty clearly shows through this song in particular that he is not sad whatsoever about the breakup.
Post Malone's Part
Said you'd take a bullet, told me you would die for me I had a really bad feeling you've been lying to me We were on the low, but you were getting high with me When it's past 11, that's a different side I see Said you'd die for me, you'd die for me, you'd die for me But you lied to me, you lied to me, you lied to me Said you'd die for me, you'd die for me, you'd die for me But you lied to me, you lied to me, you lied to me
It was love at first sight, felt like you were chosen But that blood in your veins, yeah, I know it's frozen (it's so cold) Got no patience no more (no) Been waitin' too long (yeah) You hid that shit away and I was the last one to know, bitch (ayy) I heard you comin' in, I was lyin' there awake Didn't know that it was you, got the gun right out the safe (damn) Remember when you got my ass arrested (wow) At least when I was in jail, I got some rest in
These lyrics paint the relationship as a toxic one. For example, the lyrics explained that Ashlen got Posty in jail when he sang, “Remember when you got my ass arrested.” Although, he said that he “got more rest in his cell” than being at home with her, which in other words mean that he preferred being in prison than being in a relationship with her.
Posty was clearly stressed by this terrible relationship. The sad part about these lyrics was that he said that she used to say that she would “die for him.” Obviously, there was major love between the two and the downfall of the relationship affected him greatly.
Posty was clearly stressed by this terrible relationship. The sad part about these lyrics was that he said that she used to say that she would “die for him.” Obviously, there was major love between the two and the downfall of the relationship affected him greatly.
This is only the first verse and Posty already spilled so many feelings in this song. He brings in Future who also had his own verse that refers to the possible cause of a breakup.
Got a bad girl, I was treating her too nice (I was treating her too nice) Caught you being vulnerable, that ain't what I need (that ain't what I need) You just sold your soul, girl, quit crying (sold your soul) From your passport, it looks like you lying (know you cold) You broken down by your past, don't deny it (you know I know) Your ex called, you was vulnerable, you flying, nah (flying)
This verse explains that an ex-girlfriend cheated on Future and he found out from her passport. I am assuming the rapper is referring to his famous ex-girlfriend, Ciara. There were multiple reports of the two cheating on each other, despite having a child together.

Finally, Halsey’s verse is next and it’s my favorite one. Her verse is also about a breakup she went through.
Settle down, I spell it out, it's simple enough I came around, I figured out, should follow my gut I don't play anymore, I went through your phone And caught the girls in your DM's and took all them home And I know it's been a while since the last time you heard from me Grew into a savage and that's why they gave this verse to me Turns out at shows 'cause they turn out at shows I sold 15 million copies of a break-up note Brought some strangers in our beds And now you lost your right to privacy Spilling all our secrets When you thought they'd probably die with me Know you fucking love it on the low And you don't have to say I'm crazy 'Cause I know nothing's changed honey
This is referring to her ex-boyfriend G-Eazy who publicly cheated on her. I remember when I saw reports on Twitter being constantly retweeted that contained photos of the rapper being seen with other women at a club.

What I love about this verse is that Halsey calls him out on how he cheated on her. This shows how he treated her, and she wants the whole world to know.
What I also love about this verse is that she refers to her other single Without Me that is also a breakup song about G-Eazy. She reveals how well the song performed in numbers, which I love because she clearly moved on and experienced nothing but great things from ending the relationship with him.
I always love upbeat breakup songs because I can relate to them. Definitely take a listen to this one because I know you will feel what the artists were feeling when going through their breakup and writing this song.
2. Enemies ft. DaBaby
Enemies is a fun upbeat song with a catchy chorus that talks about the haters Post Malone came across during his rise to fame. The song also disses his ex-girlfriend here and there, but the point of the song is to basically say F*CK YOU to anyone who didn’t believe in him or his music.
I personally love this song because of the message itself. For example,
They said I would never get this far, ah, ah Think that we don't see who you are, are, are?
I know it's hard To swallow your pride Sorry that you can't get over me Now you're out my life, I'm so relieved
Posty makes it clear that he was personally told by people in the music industry that he would not make it far with his music.
Clearly, these people were straight-up wrong for not believing in his music, but what I love about these lyrics is that Posty directly states that he is glad that those negative people are no longer in his life.
He shows that he is grateful for sticking to what he loves and has always been true to his work, despite the number of people who did not agree with his music.
It's too late to turn this shit around (it's too late) Only held me down when you wanted me to drown It's too late to turn this shit around (it's too late) So don't try and tell me that you're happy for me now
These lyrics are somewhat a diss to his ex-girlfriend. From what I gathered from reading these lyrics, I can assume Ashlen tried to patch things back up with the rapper after he started to gain more fame, but he wouldn’t let her back in his life again.
That was probably hard for him to do because they were together for three years and he publicly showed his affection towards her constantly through social media.
I think the lyrics that struck out to me the most and resonated with me personally were:
Sometimes, every time, they let me down Sometimes, every time, they let me down Used to have friends now I got enemies Enemies, yeah it's so sad
What these lyrics sound like is Posty probably had some people in his life who ended up not being good to him. I’m assuming that even though he is fortunate to identify the haters and remove them, he was hurt because at some point in his life, he had a close relationship with them.
Overall, I think the song has a great message and is perfect for anyone who is dealing with haters in their life. If you experienced interacting with haters who don’t have anything else better to do besides judging the life choices that make you happy, then please play this song!
This song is a great reminder that no matter what you will always have haters in your life, but you cannot let them influence the decisions that will ultimately make you happy.
3. I'm Gonna Be
This song is one of those songs that deserves more attention than it does compare to his other mainstream hits. This is a great melody that showcases his voice and a positive message that he is motivated and determined to continue doing what he loves – music.
I'm gonna be what I want, what I want, what I want, yeah (yeah) I'm gonna do what I want, when I want, when I want, yeah (yeah) I'm goin' hard 'til I'm gone, 'til I'm gone 'Til I'm gone, yeah (gone, yeah) Can you feel it? Can you feel it?
These lyrics are my favorite ones out of the whole song because of his voice and the message. Many people forget that Posty can actually sing and this song reminds people that his voice is good.
His pitch goes from high to low throughout each verse that creates a clear catchy tune for these lyrics. This shows that he has good control on how to utilize his voice range.
The lyrics itself also show a positive message. Posty clearly states that he is going to work hard and BE whatever he sets his mind too, which is what I think everyone should also do.
I encourage you to listen to this song when you are in a moment of doubt because this will give you the motivation that you need to not second guess yourself.
Now that I’ve explained the three songs that you NEED to listen to from Hollywood’s Bleeding, please go on ahead and actually listen to these songs. Post Malone is honest in all of these songs and has a unique voice to go with it.
Trust me, you won’t regret it!
