America's Sweetheart Selena Gomez is BACK with New Song "Lose You To Love Me"

It's currently 1:30 in the morning and I can't stop listening to Selena Gomez's new song "Lose You To Love Me."

We haven't heard any new music from Ms. Gomez in about four years, so this comeback is causing a major frenzy online.

What is also causing a major frenzy all over the web is the obvious song reference

to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

If you haven't lived under a rock for the past decade, you would know that Selena and Justin were everyone's favorite couple. They were together since 2011 for five years and towards the end of their relationship, the couple were already on and off in the romance department.

In early 2018, the couple reconnected and were publicly seen together as a lovely pair.

However, the couple broke it off again and only two months later, Justin and Hailey Baldwin get engaged.

Now that you've got the backstory Justin and Selena's history and the motive for the song, let's get into the fun part of talking about the song itself.

This breakup song is not your typical upbeat breakup song, where the song is an accusation towards one person in the relationship. This emotional ballad is about closure and Selena's journey in loving herself.

Throughout the song, we mostly hear piano and Selena's pure voice. My favorite part of the song is the chorus where her voice is echoed and sounds elegant.

We'd always go into it blindly I needed to lose you to find me This dance, it was killing me softly I needed to hate you to love me, yeah

To love, love, yeah To love, love, yeah To love, yeah I needed to lose you to love me, yeah To love, love, yeah To love, love, yeah To love, yeah I needed to lose you to love me

What I also love about these lyrics is the actual meaning behind it. She expresses her raw feelings towards the breakup and honestly, listening to her singing these lyrics gave me chills. Mostly because we haven't heard a peep from Selena anywhere on social media throughout the whole breakup or engagement process. So, this song was definitely her opportunity to heal and really let all her emotions out on the table.

Although, if I had to pick my favorite lyrics, it would be the obvious reference to Justin.

I gave my all and they all know it Then you tore me down and now it's showing In two months, you replaced us Like it was easy Made me think I deserved it In the thick of healing, yeah

She clearly is referring to Justin breaking the relationship off and quickly getting engaged to Hailey in just TWO MONTHS. These lyrics are so raw and real that I had goosebumps throughout the entire song.

After listening to the song a few hundred more times, I decided to go on Instagram and see if there were any reactions from Justin. Turns out, Hailey had to get some emotions off her chest too. Right after Selena released her song, Hailey posted this on her Instagram story.

Personally, I don’t know why Hailey would have the nerve to post that disturbing image. Her actions clearly define the type of person she is. Everyone on Twitter also pretty much went outrageous over Hailey’s post.

Every single news outlet reported about the shady post and everyone is voicing their disagreements online towards Hailey’s post.

To make it more awkward, Justin Bieber also posted a random photo of a cheetah on his Instagram right around the same time Selena released her song.

The comments under this post are filled with references to Selena and basically bashing him for what he has done to the singer.

Well, it is very clear that everyone is #TeamSelena and honestly, so am I. Selena has always held her persona with class and is never involved in any controversy. I can’t say the same about Mr. and Mrs. Bieber.

This is probably why I am obsessed with “Lose You to Love Me.” You should be too!

Until next time!
